Biology
Found in close to shore. This schooling species is an opportunistic predator which feeds on virtually everything within its range, i.e. crustaceans, fishes (mainly anchovy relatives), squids, heteropods (a type of shell-less sea snail) and tunicates (sea squirts). Eggs and larvae are found in the open ocean (pelagic).
