Tail shape Rounded
Adult: dark reddish brown to brownish grey to almost black along top of back, dull reddish grey below; some small pale blotches scattered on body. Juvenile: red-brown, with a yellow tail fin, and a few scattered whitish spots on body.
Biology
A solitary species usually found on rocky bottoms; juveniles are occasionally seen on jetties and shallow reefs. Adults feed on a variety of crabs, shrimps, lobsters, and fishes.
